C. Mark Wessinger PhD

Mark is Dynaread's Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology specialist. He heads our team of resident academics. He helps parents and teachers understand reading assessment results and potential intervention options. Mark performs ongoing literature research to further optimize Dynaread's language-based remediation with research evidence based components. He also performs specific research into fields pertaining to specific student issues. Mark brings more than 16 years of research and teaching experience in cognitive neuroscience and psychology to Dynaread.

Silvia Mazabel Ortega MA

Clinical Neuropsychology and Learning Disabilities. Silvia is a Learning Specialist with 10 years of experience in cognitive, academic and neuropsychological assessment of individuals with learning disabilities. She holds degrees in Clinical Neuropsychology and Psychology and is currently a graduate student in Special Education with a focus on learning disabilities at the University of British Columbia. Learning Disabilities Specialist and Clinical Counsellor. Dave is a Special Education specialist with a Master of Special Education degree from Macquirie University in Sydney, Australia. He also has a BA (Psychology Major), and holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. He currently pursues a PhD. Dave has both practical and research experience in working with low progress students in the field of reading. He is a warm and relational man with strong empathy. Besides Dynaread Reading Assessments, David's combined degrees allow him to provide counsel and coaching to parents and teachers of children who are already displaying behavioural challenges as a result of their reading struggles. Dave is excited to be part of a team that is dedicated to providing struggling readers with an opportunity to increase their motivation and self-esteem, ultimately influencing their developmental trajectories and mental health and the emotional well-being of their parents.

Elaine Benton MA

Elaine brings expertise in Educational and Counselling Psychology and Special Education. Elaine is a seasoned learning specialist with a career focus on reading instruction. She holds a Masters degree in the field and worked for a number of years towards her PhD in Educational and Counselling Psychology and Special Education. She is also certified Orton-Gillingham reading instructor. Elaine has a real heart for struggling readers. Her significant field experience, under-girded with solid academic expertise, allows us to assign to her the more challenging assessment cases.
